Capturing Family Life With The Olympus E-M10 Mark III…

Capturing those precious family moments is something that has always been important to me. There is nothing better than getting out your photo’s and looking back at all the fun times you had.

Of course it is just as important to picture those tiny toes and tiny fingers before they are not so tiny anymore.

Family photojournalism extends way beyond the surface sharing of our best lives on social media. It is not just about being present, but capturing the present before it becomes the distant past.

Capturing those precious baby moments

The Olympus E-M10 Mark III has proven to be the perfect camera to be able to do just what I wanted. And that was make these memories.

This type of photography is not all about planning moments or waiting for the perfect light, it’s about capturing those moments that best illustrate your life.

This camera is by far the best one I have used that just fits perfect into our everyday family lives.

So grab your camera and let me share with you some of the beautiful moments you are able to capture with this camera.

Brilliant for capturing the places you have visited with the family

Now I am guilty of always heading straight to the auto button when it comes to cameras. I get a little overwhelmed with trying to work out my own settings. Especially with this type of photography, there is no time to fiddle with settings when your child is doing something you so desperately want to capture.

The latest menu setting on the Olympus E-M10 Mark III has scene modes to help wean you off of the auto mode. This has helped me capture some amazing family photos with the perfect settings. The screen is also touch (how amazing!) you can use the touch to capture the shot instead of the shutter button and even press anywhere on the screen to set your focus.

Typical daddy picture!

Can you believe this picture was actually captured on a mode already built into the camera?! Well it’s true. This was captured using the sport mode. So perfectly clear, I am so happy I got this moment.

We had a beautiful day out to a nature park. Having a toddler and a baby I already have a lot of luggage to carry when out and about. My bags cannot get any fuller! What you will find with the Olympus E-M10 Mark III is that it is super compact and so very easy to carry around. It has a beautiful traditional look to it to!

Perfect Portraits

Another setting that I absolutely love to use is Portrait mode. It captures the smiles so perfectly. This portrait was captured using the zoom lens supplied with the camera. This lens will do anything from wider angle scenic shots to short telephoto portraits. To capture moments like this even better I like to especially use the 45mm Lens.

Captured using the 45mm lens.

You can claim a FREE 45mm lens now when you buy any E-M10 Mark III kit.

Transferring of your images after capturing all day is also so very simple using the built in Wi-Fi. You can download the Olympus OI share app that is free to download for IOS or Android. The App can be used to transfer images, remote control the camera (great for group shots) and also has a ‘how To’ section to guide you through all the various things you can do with the camera.

If you are more of a video type of person, you prefer to watch back small clips of your little adventures, the camera can also record and even has a smooth 4K video setting. I can also bet ya (as I found myself!) that the quality of both images and videos is better than a traditional SLR camera and it’s also quieter and better built than most.
